Elmer and the Lost Treasure

We are so happy we could see the beautiful sunshine a little bit today! It was cloudy for most of the day, but it didn’t rain so we could go to the park! We started our morning making our poster by sticking a picture of our faces on the Earth Day poster! We continued working on our Mikoshi and painted our Uchiwa for the event!
We packed away our toys and practiced our name song. We used the projector to display our names, our friends were very curious about what was on the screen so our teachers let us sit and watch it after our rehearsal!

Today was a special day for someone!

D: Today is April 24.

E: Why is it special day?

D: Who’s special day?

J: Me! Monday!

I: M’s?

M: Happy Birthday!

Nimo: That’s right! Who’s happy birthday?

S: Me!

We sang the Happy Birthday song for S and asked her how old she was.

S: I am three!

Nimo: Who else is three?

D: I’m not three. I am four.

P: Three is easy (to make with my hands)

M: I’m three too.

M: I’m four.

J: I’m five!

I: I’m three.

R: I’m four too.

Y: Two

J: How about me, Happy Birthday?

S: I have Santa Claus, he come for Christmas.

E: I have many toys I don’t play with, I can give to Petals friends.

D: My balloons are too cool!

Before our story time, Nimo asked the class if we remembered what we did yesterday.

S: World Book Day!

Nimo: That’s right! Today, we will read this story.

R: That is my book! Mommy borrowed it. You cannot take or the sticker or the letters.

Our story today was, “Elmer and the Lost Treasure” by David McKee.

P: Look! It’s an elephant!

M: Rainbow elephant.

Elmer and his friends walked deep into the jungle to go on an adventure. As they were walking, Elmer slid down a slope to find a hidden castle!

R: It’s like a big big slide!

M: That is so funny!

M: That one elephant is so silly!

Nimo: What do you think is in the castle?

S: A ghost!

E: Monster too!

R: Mommy.

I: A mermaid!

Ja: E!

R: There is big water inside!

The elephants wandered around the castle seeing if they can find anything.

Wn: The (castle) is so big! Selina, look! So big!

R: There’s no monsters here.

I: No mermaid.

S: Water (fountain)!

Wn: Funny!

Ja: Shower time!

R: They are having fun.

S: The end!

We quickly reviewed the names of our family members then played at Step Park!

Thank you all for another fabulous day! Have a wonderful evening and we will see you all again tomorrow!

Love,

Petals
