Easter

Hello there, Petals!

This morning, we started decorating some parts of the Mikoshi. We watered our Grassheads and gave it a little trim. It’s a fun way of practicing our scissors skills. Then we created flowers, ice cream and pies with our play dough.

R: where’s mine? ( his Grasshead) look, this is long

Wn: S? Me Wn?  (looking for his Grasshead

J: Can I take (it) home?

M: I want to cut more

Jn: This  is J! ( pointing at a Grasshead)

R: Can I take (Grasshead) home today?

Evita shared a fun story about Jesus and Easter with us!

Evita: What day is it today?

Jn: Sunday!

Evita: Yesterday was Sunday, and today is ….

J: Monday!

Me: Teacher! (when asked who they need to look at)

R: Listening ears! ( mouth) closed! Quiet. Look and listen

Jn: (look at) teachers! Raise your hand!

J: Raise your hand

E: (Today is) Monday

Jn: Saturday! ( yesterday) Sunday!

Evita: Yesterday, I celebrated something important. What do you think I celebrated yesterday?

Evita: What do we do during Easter?

Evita: When Shelley went to our class she talked about a man named Moses.

Jn: (Shelley read) spider book ( Anansi)

Evita: Today, I will talk about a kind man named Jesus.

Petals: Hello, Jesus!

E: I’m very very kind. When someone needs help, I help them.

Evita: Because Jesus is a kind man , he has lots of friends.

Dn: 1,2,3,4,5,6,7

Jn: a lot!

E: because Jesus is very good to all people.

Evita: Jesus wants to hide in this cave. Can you help push the rock?

Petals: *pretended to push the big rock*

Evita: After three days, his friends wanted to see Jesus in the cave. Please help his friends move the big rock again!

Petals: *pretended to push the big rock*

Evita: What do you think they saw inside the cave?

E: I don’t know

Evita: They didn’t see him inside the cave! An angel came and told them he is doing well somewhere else.

J: Why?

Evita:How do you think his friends felt when they heard the news that he is doing okay?

R: Angry!

Jn: not angry

E: happy

R: Yes, happy

Evita: Jesus then used his magical voice to tell his friends that he needs to say goodbye, but he would always be with them in their hearts. Where do you think your heart is?

E: *points at his head

R: * points at his foot

Me: * points to her chest

E: If you move really really fast,( your) heart will go faster.

Following the story, Evita mentioned that Easter is celebrated around the world. People believe that it represents new life, hope, and happiness. Just like what spring brings us, leaves are growing and flowers are blooming all around us.

Evita: What season are we in now?
