Busy as bees!

TGIF!

Today we welcomed a new Buds friend into our class! Her name is S! We are so happy to have you with us S and look forward to learning and growing with you!

Today on the front table, we enjoyed our threading puzzles again. S gave the triangle shape a go and pulled out the red cord from the pattern, clapping her hands with accomplishment afterwards. She passed the triangle to her friend L, who loved pretending to make the cow threader puzzle trot around the table!

At the back table, there were rainbow colored popsicle sticks waiting inside a holder! We noticed there were also matching color cups around, ready to sort them into. L, R and S showed amazing cooperation while sorting and searching for their favorite colors! H came over and was inspired to hand out colorful cups to his friends! What a thoughtful bunch!

I and R both relaxed in the library this morning reading and turning through their favorite books! They are so gentle with our books, which is very important! Thank you!

On top of the art table, we made cool bumble bee stripe pattern paintings, using marbles to roll the black paint around! K tilted and rolled the marbles over and over saying “ooooh!”. H even had a smile while he painted his bumble bee pattern! He was so interested and loves art!

Inside the sensory table, there were colorful pom poms and flowers out to celebrate our busy and buzzy friends-honey bees! Noah and S were exploring the different colors and giggled at each other as they scooped and

Once we wrapped up cleaning our things, we gathered for the morning circle, where Brandon played his harmonica to get our attention and we sang the morning song. Afterwards, we said our names and identified the pictures on the back of them with a big smile! L was very good at calling out his friends' names and L was very keen to recognise her friends’ faces! Nice job! K was so happy to recognise his name card and had a cute chuckle with a smile as he came up bravely to take his.

The teachers introduced the song “Bringing Home a Baby Bumble Bee” and we danced, pretending to hold a baby bumble bee! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E5pyXANcsns

After our Buds bees gathered again, we sat down and read the Eric Carle story “The Bumble Bee and the Robber”! It was about a bunch of busy bees and their buzzzzzzzy day! They showed how to treat each other with kindness and protect their home from a big bear! Wow!

Shortly after, we played a baby bee catching and transfer game where we had to help a baby bee find a flower! We carefully picked one bee up and gently placed them into a big blue flower! R was so gentle and carefully took her bee along with S! They both showed such great focus and hand-eye coordination! Soon after, we all had a turn in taking care of our busy buzzy friends! It was so much fun to practice gentle touch, along with hand-eye coordination to transfer them!

Pretty soon, it was time for us to gobble up our snacks and head out to the park! We practiced digging and scooping sand and enjoyed the warm sunshine together!

Love, Buds
