Bubbles and more Bubbles

This morning was lots of fun with both bubbles and paint. On the first table we did some bubble painting onto white paper. There were 5 colors to choose from and when we looked in the small bubble pots we found paint and bubble liquid had been mixed together. We poured this into some trays and used some bubble rings to blow lots of colored bubbles onto the paper.It looked really good and was fun too. On the main table we saw the big art work we have been making this week. Next to it we saw there were lots and lots of art collage materials such as pom-poms, sequins, colored tape, pieces of material, foam shapes, buttons, sparkly shapes and cloth leaves. Next to the art collage materials were pots of glue and spreaders. We could put the collage materials wherever we wanted them on the large paper and soon it had lots of beautiful pieces all around the paper. It looks super special and the children were really proud of their work. We headed for the park early again today to try and avoid the building heat and beat the expected rainfall. We took our snacks along too and had a wonderful park picnic together. We made it back from the park just a few minutes before the showers started luckily. In circle time we read a book together called ‘The House in the Night’. It was a great book as the artwork only contained black, white and yellow. We then saw what it was like to only have a little light like in the book and laid down in a circle facing our friends. We then tried a matching game in the near darkness where we had to see how many fingers Darren put on the carpet and try and match them with our own fingers. It showed us how much we need light to see things properly. We then came to the big table to finish our artwork. This time we not only used more of the collage materials on our artwork but brought the bubble and paint mixture to add the bubbles to our work but we also brought some pipettes to drop paint onto the surface as well as gold and silver glitter glue.
