June 4 - The last day of school for Ohana, Year 2014 – 2015

DSCN0311It’s a terrific Thursday and all of us were so happy to be here again. Today is also our last day for the school year. We are going to miss everybody especially those who are going to have their vacation this summer. We will also not forget Leanne-chan for the wonderful memories that she shared with us. We started our day with our morning activities. We got our blocks and toys out and we all constructed different buildings and houses for today. DSCN0394Sofia got her favorite baby doll and she always likes to walk around with it. Alexa brought her Minnie Mouse doll and she loves showing it to her friends and teachers. Sayaka gave us the sound shapes for today and we sang many songs that we have learned for the term. Leanne was also busy looking around the classroom while carrying her baby. It seemed that she knew it was going to be her last day at Ohana. So, she finally sang the wonderful song with her friends and the maracas. We got our own musical DSCN0401instruments too, we love singing together and having fun learning things from one another because we believe that by being free and creative with what you do, it gives you the confidence of achieving anything you want.

During our circle time, we said “hello” to our friend, “Minnie Mouse”. She gave us a big smile and she proudly showed her toy to us. We gave Minnie mouse a kiss and it was wonderful that all of us were soDSCN0409 willing to show our affection to our new friend. And then, our teachers asked to get our own soft toys and we pretended that they were all babies that needed care. We had a great time taking care of our babies and singing them a lullaby.

That was a short but great circle time! We then went to our art tables and we started painting with the letter foams. Sayaka DSCN0415told us that she will perform a magic trick with our paint. She mixed red and white together and amazingly she showed us how to make pink. We used pink on our painting, we stamped and stamped until everything is covered with paint. We also noticed that we’re making some terrific marks on our paper. On the other side, John was doing some construction play and some of our DSCN0428Buds class friends, Kaia was so happy doing this activity too. Nikolas and she always had to do it over and over again because their construction always kept on falling. And for some reason, it was really funny for them to see the blocks falling on the floor. While Maki, on the other hand, was spending her precious time left with some of our kids who are saying goodbye to Ohana. We are going to miss them so much and thank you for everything.

DSCN0438            To you Ohana parents, on behalf of Buds class teachers, we are extending our big thank you for everything that you have done for us. Thank you for all the support and joy that we’ve shared together, the huge smile and wonderful moments that we had. The kids are truly a blessing for us. Thank you and have a wonderful summer vacation!

Lots of love,

John, Sayaka and Maki
