Party! Time In the Neighborhood!
This morning we were all greeted with a HUGE illustration of a neighborhood on the front table! K watched L make a circle and he then copied him! K loves to draw with blue! He made water in the neighborhood by illustrating swirls over and over. R also used yellow to make lines of sunshine! They looked like rays shining down on the neighborhood making everything warm and bright!
At the second table, there were blocks and play doh together. A and L went straight away, squishing blocks together to get them to stick and build a house! L also built a small block house on top of a ball of clay! It was so much fun to build a house in new ways! The hard blocks and soft clay were a very interesting combination.
Inside the sensory table, there were lots of snap bands and bristle blocks to put our fine motor skills to the test! S was very curious about how he could connect a blue and yellow band together. His friend I showed him how to snap the ends together and then they made a big square shape together! L came by and also made a big red, purple and green chain together. He passed it to L, who added two yellow bands! What great teamwork! K was very focused when he connected the bristle blocks and showed E how to put them together to make a tower! Emma made a swing door to add to it and they both giggled when it fell over.
Once we finished up, we gathered for the morning circle greeting and searched for our name cards. S was so excited to see his picture on his card and popped it into the plate with a smile!
After we put away our name cards, there was a knock at the door! Who could it be? None other than our very own T’s mom and dad! They arrived to celebrate T’s birthday party! His mom and dad came in and we all sang happy birthday to show our love! T’s dad invited us all to show our gross motor skills off by kicking a soccer ball into a goal for a prize! What a fun way to win a treat!
After we all showed off our physical prowess, we gathered to watch T blow out his candle and gave him a special card from all his friends and teachers! Thank you so much for sharing your special day with us! He is 2 years old!
Before we knew it, it was time to get ready for the park! We set out to play in the jungle gym and try out the swings! S sat so nicely on the swings and swung by himself with a little help from the teachers! L also got in on the fun by riding her swing into the sky with a whoosh! H gave Lucy a high five for approval and explored the sand area for treasures!
What a fun-filled day back! We are so excited to do our Mikoshi event tomorrow!
Love, Buds
