Is Earth Special?

Happy Monday! The weather is nice, and we’re enjoying an amazing day in Flowers Class!

OUR WEEKEND

We began our circle time with a casual conversation between everyone sitting in the circle. Y mentioned that he had a new hat, and we asked if we could see it! He showed it to us and told us that he got it from a museum over the weekend. That made the rest of us feel like sharing about our weekend. Let’s find out what we did!

A: Yesterday and before yesterday, it was the worst day ever! Yesterday was a bad day because mom and dad said no when E and I asked if we can have a colored pretzel.

T: Yesterday I went swimming and I hold onto my dad!

M: I drink strawberry drink at a café with mommy and daddy.

T: I go somewhere close to Fuji-san. I go to hotel and at nighttime I eat sushi. Sushi was going around and around! Yesterday morning, I go home.

M: Day after yesterday…I mean day before yesterday, Saturday, I went to the movie theater. It was three hours! I watched Wicked! It was super duper good!

O: I went to dinosaur jet coaster and it was little bit scary but I no cry.

QUESTION OF THE DAY

We began our discussion today by recalling the names of all the continents.

M: Europe
K: Asia
T: Antarctica
M: Australia
Y: Africa
T: North America
M: South America

A read our question of the day, “Is Earth special?” Let’s share why we think the Earth is special!

A: Cause it has air.
M: Because we have some countries.
Y: Because there is grass.
T: The earth is special because it has oxygen, water, tree, grass, and food.
T: Because it’s big! It’s giant!
M: The earth is not special because…I don’t know.
Y: Because there is people.
M: Because there are special people.
A: Because earth has airplane.
M: I think the earth is special now. Because the earth is saving some people.
T: Because trees can help us.
T: Because there is sausage pizza! It’s so so yummy!
A: Because earth has fruits and vegetables.
O: I don’t think earth is special. I can see Minecraft at my house.
K: No, because sky too long and star coming out.

There are many reasons why we think the earth is special, but there must be many more! Leading up to Earth Day on April 22nd, we will be talking all about earth!
