Kaji-sensei's Monday

Good morning everyone! The weather was quite gloomy but we’re still excited to come to class and see what’s happening today. Tamara was so nice to help us out with our morning jobs today.

On our tables, we had the play dough area wherein we used the utensils to make more figures that we could offer our friends and teachers. On the other table, our house that’s made of cardboard was ready to fill in with sensory materials. We had the popsicle sticks, little match sticks and  some shredded paper. We continued working on it. We patiently stuck them all and when we’re done, we told our teachers, “Oops! Our hands are so sticky!”.

Kaji-sensei’s gym class is always exciting. First, we did some warm-up exercises by stretching and following some different routines in the classroom. There were some challenging moves that we tried to copy from him like the Superman move to be quite specific.

He gave us some balls as well and he showed us how to throw it up as high as he could. We also did some skipping around the classroom and the funny one was the jumping while opening and closing our leg together. There were also some different types of sitting position that we tried to maintain its posture. He also taught us how to run as quickly as we could from end of the room to the other.  And lastly, our favorite banana stretch was quite fun as well.

John started playing with his guitar, sat down and started singing our favorite songs. We also learned how to count our friends and teachers. Later on,  we saw a picture of a house and our teachers asked, “Which parts of the house you see? Our friends were so active and they were able to identify each part as much as they could. One of us even went outside to point at the gate and see how it looks like.

We also learned a song called, “I am a fancy house”. And it goes something like this…

I am a fancy house

Big and Tall

Here’s my roof and here’s my door

After the children played outside…

They come back to me and then sleep tight

After our short lesson about houses, we talked about taking care of our books and toys. Today, we sang the “Gentle Hands” song and showed our teachers how to do it. We actually had a broken book. We needed to fix the book so our friends asked for tape. We helped our teachers  to put them all together.

We went outside (just for a walk) and felt the cold breeze on our faces. It was nice to get some fresh air today too. Thank you so much and  have a fantastic day.

Lots of love,

Buds Children
