Halloween practice

Good morning everyone! It was such a lovely day to see our friends and teachers here at Ohana again. Each day is always a blessing for us and we look forward to experience beautiful learning opportunities.

Today, it was another busy day for our BIGGER friends because we’ve got more challenging activities. We had some connecting blocks that we needed to count and attached together. The task was to make shapes out of these blocks and of course, we had to use our imagination on how to make these. At first, we had no clue on what we needed to do until our teachers showed us how to work on it properly. So the technique was to do it one by one and find the slots that could fit in together.

On the other table, we finished our Turkey art that we started doing yesterday. It was also a good way for our friends to understand where the eyes, beak and head of turkey go in the artwork. For most of our friends, they just stuck the face parts anywhere they wanted to and of course, we appreciate the imagination that we all bring into the class.

The cars and other vehicle toys were popular too. This time, we are slowly learning how to work well together as a group and to establish how to take turns in playing the cars individually. There were moments that we had some discussions about who’s going to use the red car first and in the end, our friends always found a way to decide whose turn it was. Our teachers were so proud of us because we are learning how to communicate more and use our voices in the classroom.

Maryna the ballerina came to our classroom and to have a special dance class. We did a little bit of warm-up exercises and some stretching. It was nice to see that our bigger friends were trying to do their best on how to do what our ballerina was doing. This also helped our younger friends to follow instructions and to copy what other children were performing. First, we danced to the “Peel the Banana” song and “Zoo animal” songs. The actions were quite easy and catchy. It was really fun to communicate through our bodies because we’re really showing what we could do in front of many people. Thank you so much Maryna for another extravagant class today.

We learned some Halloween words today as we prepare for our Halloween party after fall break. The words were quite easy to remember and we’ve seen some photos of them while our teachers were reading the story for us. We learned the words such as, “vampire, mummy, witch, ghost, trick-or-treat and bats”. Then, we sang our Happy Halloween song in the end before we ate our snacks.

It was a gloomy but wonderful day (no rain) so we headed to the park and enjoyed the whole park to ourselves. Oftentimes, we tend to explore our environment and go up and down the big yellow slide at Step park. Our friends were even helping each other to climb on the rocks. Way to go Buds!!! Thank you so much Ohana for another great day. See you all again tomorrow!

Lots of love, Buds Class Children
