Mystery Readers and jobs!

Thursday 4/25/2024

Good afternoon, everyone, and welcome back for more adventures in Flowers Class. Oh my, we were so busy today. Hope that you will enjoy discovering our activities as much as we loved having them! Thank you for reading our journal.

MYSTERY READERS

Today, we were lucky to have not one, not two, but three mystery readers! First, Akane (T.’s mom) read a story about kindness to our Flowers friends. They were really interested in the beautiful images and characters.

K.: I have one at home.

E.: Do you mean like a castle?

T.: Like with an elephant trunk?

V.: Is it T. book? T. likes this book?

T.: But why is the worm super long? He is holding together like a snake.

Then A’s mom (Li) read a book called: Clifford, the firehouse dog. It tells us the story of Clifford, the giant red dog, who was visiting a fire station.

T.: The fire truck is as red as Clifford!

V.: The police dog is so good.

T.: Why is this dog doing that?

After those two stories, we went to enjoy the sun while playing outside at Step Park. When we came back, we gathered again in a circle to welcome our third guest of the day: Akiko (R’s mom)!

She read to us the favorite book of R.: “Fancy Nancy, pajama day”!

The story is about a little girl named Nancy that participates in a pajama day at school! After Akiko read this story to us, our friends had some questions and comments:

H.: I already did at Ohana.

              V.: Crocodile?

              E.: Underpants?? That’s silly!

T.: Why is the other one crying?

M.: Why do you bring that book?

We thanked R.’s mom as well and got ready for our daily circle time.

CIRCLE TIME AND QUESTION OF THE DAY

We started our daily circle time by singing our hello song. Once it was over, our teacher asked us to read the question of the day. M., Y. and H. tried together and read: “Do we need jobs”?

R.: If we don’t have the job we don’t have money.

V.: If you don’t have a job no toy money.

E.: We need jobs because it pays us money!

H.: If you have a job, you can learn new things from other people.

K.: Because my mommy has a job so I need a job too.

R.: Because someone needs to someone wants to do.

M.: When I go to KidZania, I take money because sometimes in KidZania there are shops. We are like grown-ups.

R.: It’s also ok to not have shop on Friday. Maybe we can have robots to work.

C.: If no vet they can go to people doctor.

M.: What will happens if all the vets don’t want to do their jobs?

C.: They can go to the medicine place.

T.: If they don’t do job, I can do all the jobs.

M.: Everyone can do it, yes!

H.: If all the people don’t want to do jobs, then we cannot live.

After that, we went to fill up our tummies with our super yummy lunches! Thank you so much for following our adventures. See you soon!

Lots of Love,

Children from the Flowers Class.
