The Dentist

??????????Good morning Buds! Monday is always calm and peaceful for us. And we just love it that way. We started our day with the lovely stuffed toys that we have in the classroom. Sofia got the alligator and Alexa rode on the tiger and they went around the classroom. Taiga and Dominik were so serious about the Easter theme of our sensory table. And then, they continued spending their playtime with the play dough and other stuff that they could do on our activity tables. In our circle time, we learned another occupation today. She was also a doctor but a different type. She likes to look at our teeth and she would also help if we have a toothache. We all thought for a moment who ??????????would that be. And then, we found out that it was the dentist. Our teachers also told us that dentist can also take out some loose teeth if we do have them. We saw the dental equipments that they use such as tongue depressors and dental scrapers. They looked very interesting but unfortunately we didn’t see any real ones.

??????????             Our teachers told us to show our teeth and we all said “ahhh”. Sofia, Sofie and Lisa were very confident showing them while Alexa just showed us her teeth and of course, her beautiful smile. Dominik was very confident too. He smiled so handsomely and it was very cute to see him participate in class. Taiga did the same too. He was playing with us at first but he then showed a big smile. Our teachers asked us if we are also taking good care of our teeth. And they told us that eating lots of sweet can make your teeth go bad. And we have to make sure that sweets can only be eaten once in a while or even not at all. They showed us a toothbrush and toothpaste. ??????????Sofia already recognized the toothbrush and she knew that we need that to make our teeth white and clean. We also learned that cleaning our teeth should have an upward and downward motion. It was very easy to do and I think we’re ready to try our tooth brushing experience. We also sang the song…

This is the way I brush my teeth

Brush my teeth, brush my teeth

This is the way I brush my teeth

So early in the morning, brush, brush my teeth…brush, brush my teeth…

Today, we also had our gym class. We would like to say hi to our dearest Miyashita-sensei. It was always good to do some simple warm-up exercises. We did some shaking of our body. We started with hands, legs and then the whole body. Sofia and Taiga were so cooperative and they were ??????????always having fun doing these activities with us. Then, we put our hands on our waist and we rotated our heads slowly from left to right and right to left. We started our gym routines by small movement exercises. We sat down and make butterfly legs. We put the soles of our feet together and flapped our legs up and down just like the butterfly wings. We also sang a Japanese song that depicted our different body parts. It was somehow similar to head, shoulders, knees and toes. But the only difference was, we had to put and stretch our legs out on the floor and we had to touch our body parts as the ??????????song went along. We then went to one side of the classroom and Miyashita-sensei took out some mats that we can jump, crawl and walk on to. On the other end of the obstacle course, we can see some cushions lined up and all we needed to do was to sit on it when we finished the course and go back straight to the starting line.

We also played the gorilla game. The game was fun. We had to walk towards to cushion and wait for Miyashita-sensei to say “Gorilla” and then we all had to go to the cushions at one end as fast as we could. We ended our ??????????class on a brighter note because it was always fun moving around the classroom and do some special activities for the day. Alexa amazingly enjoys the gym class too. She is very cooperative and likes to imitate the actions that our teachers were making.

After our gym class, we went to the library to discuss some important things about our books. We noticed that some pages are missing or being torn off and our teachers felt that we need to learn more about taking good care of them. We love to use our books especially?????????? when we want to look at the pictures. However, in order for us to maintain the good quality of our books, we had to make sure that everything is in order and in one piece.

Thank you so much to our teachers who have been teaching us many things and we hope to see you all again tomorrow! We also hope that the sunshine will show up for brighter day.

Lots of love,

John, Sayaka and Maki
