Petals Dancing and Exploring

The sudden down pour last night had us a little worried for the weather for Thursday, but after we went to sleep and woke up, Mr. Sun was shining brightly outside smiling down on us. It also didn’t feel as hot as yesterday which is great! Such a beautiful morning, there was no way today was going to anything less than amazing.

Our teachers prepared for us a scissor practicing activity. With the scrap paper we have stocked up, we had Pauline draw us lines on the paper that we followed to cut the paper. Scissors are still pretty hard for us and practice like this is fun to do with our friends! After we snipped out some shapes, we then pasted them in our art portfolios, we are so independent now! On the other table we had some farm animal jigsaw puzzles. They weren't so big as they were only an 8 piece puzzle and some of us were able to solve them easily and help our newer petals friends. The carpet area had our toy cars for us to go vroom vroom with.

We had to pack away very early today because we were having a special guest come to Petals. We all worked together and we remembered our circle time yesterday with Sayaka about “Team Work”. We weren’t able to pick up the large boxes by ourselves, but if we asked our friends to come and hold the other side we could carry it together. Once we got classroom all tidied up and cleared away, our guest came in, it was Maryna in her beautiful pink tutu! It’s been such a long time we almost forgot, Thursday is ballet day! Our teachers laid out the mats for us to stand on so we would be able to spread out evenly. Maryna played the music from her speakers and we started to dance away!

Now that we are bigger than we were in Buds the moves that we could do were much more advanced. Maryna played some of the songs we danced to in Buds, but she introduced a lot of new songs with more complex movements! It was our first time dancing to these new songs so it was a little difficult to follow, but as the weeks go on we will be able to dance with Maryna! We had so much fun, and our time together seemed to have just zipped by. We all said thank you to Maryna and as the little busy petals we are, we had no time to waste. We quickly washed our hands and had our snacks so we could still make it to the park!

As soon as we were finished with our snacks we were off to the park. Today was a lot cooler than it was yesterday, but we still made sure to put on our sunscreen, hats, and water bottles to the park. Everyone in Azabu seemed to have the same idea as us, since it wasn't extremely hot, there were lots of friends at the park. We got to run around for about 30 minutes then we had to head back to school for lunch. On our way back we found a giant spider web with an equally giant spider. We all stopped by and appreciated the beautiful work of the spider. Before we had our lunch we had a short circle time about one of our jobs, the Calendar Assistant. Nimo noticed that our calendar wasn’t updated so we sang the 7 days in a week song together to remind ourselves on what day it was today.

We are always so busy and always up and about with so much to do the days feels too short! Once we get rested up again tonight we’ll be ready for another busy day at school tomorrow!

Love,
