A sunny day at Ohana

Bring out your hats, let’s put our sunscreen on and we’re ready for a wonderful day again at the park. Thankfully, Mr. Sun showed up and we’re so happy to see how bright and shiny our day would be.

On our activity tables, we had our Mr. Potato head. Our friends were so imaginative and they all combined different face parts and made our own unique faces. We also went to the other side and had our special painting activity as well. We had our various painting materials and today we used the sponges and toothbrushes to make sure that we’ve created lots of patterns and designs.

The  carpet area was full of cars and trucks again. We enjoyed creating our own parking lot and definitely moving the cars around the map. We also welcomed our new Student Teacher Ashley to help us out and we’re waiting for her to make new learning experiences in our classroom. She’s a student from Ryerson University in Canada but she’s originally from Chongqing, China. We’re certainly excited to have her and spend more time learning and playing with her.

For our singing session, we practiced our special mommy songs for our mother’s day breakfast tomorrow. We had two voice leaders—B and L. They sang wonderfully and we all listened and followed their lead. Miyashita-sensei came into our classroom and we’re ready for another amazing gym class. We did our warm-up exercises and started moving around with our bodies nicely stretched. We also did  our animal actions and we are so full of energy as always. Miyashita-sensei brought a rope and he put in the middle of the classroom. He instructed us to jump over the rope while we were running from one side to the other. Then, Miyashita-sensei asked us to walk on the  cushions on the side like balancing on them. Lastly, we played our Japanese version of head, shoulders, knees and toes.

We then went to the park and of course, it was really a time for us to make sure that we sweat a lot because  of this beautiful weather. We ran around the green area and our teachers chased after us. It was a nice time for us again to be able to see how much energy we could spend each day.

Lots of love,

All the bubbly children from Buds class 2017-2018
